The Record
Klein Steel has established itself as a leader in supporting employee health by adopting a tobacco-free policy, as reported in the Nov. 11 Record. It’s a policy that reflects a clear understanding of the harms caused by tobacco use — all Klein Steel locations, properties, buildings and vehicles will be free of smoking and related tobacco products.
While Klein Steel cites employee health as their main motivation for the policy, there are other benefits, too. Tobacco-free policies can improve the curb appeal of a business, reduce maintenance costs, and create a more welcoming environment for clients and visitors.
Tobacco-free grounds are good for business, good for employee health, and just good sense. For information on how to Go Tobacco-Free and how to qualify for no-cost tobacco-free signage, visit www.SmokeFreeCapital.org
