A few months ago the city approved a resolution of support encouraging Tobacco-Free Zones in our City playground. The concern as mentioned in this prior blog was that we want to continue to encourage our residents to refrain from smoking in and around our play areas. As I have mentioned, most residents are aware and cognizant of the impact of smoke on not only our children but others, yet it is still important to reinforce that point to those that visit.
The signs have been posted in the various parks throughout the City and it is hoped that residents will comply and respect the above mentioned concern. I appreciate the full support of the Common Council in this effort and the support for the provision of the signs by the Capital District Tobacco-Free Coalition. Let’s keep those Young Lungs at Play healthy!
